Teen Identity Photography Session

Is your daughter’s
self-esteem concerning you?

It’s hard to be a girl growing up in today’s world.

Magazines on every checkout stand feature celebrities airbrushed to perfection.

Media has grown into a huge daily presence of “perfect people” – internet ads, television shows and commercials, movies, text message ads, billboards, etc. Our girls are being inundated with information that eventually translates into the message  - “what YOU are is NOT good enough” and our girls cease enjoying their childhood and begin the quest of becoming a walking airbrushed image.
They cannot understand the simple truth that has been edited away for their own discovery.

It’s up to us. And we’re up against a strong force. It’s not fair; but it’s up to us.

Let me introduce you to Teen Identity.

It’s a pause for a cause. It’s a force towards hope. Hope that our daughter’s will grow into women that are comfortable in their own skin – certain of their beauty, and knowing their beauty is unchanged whether others value it or see it. It’s a community prayer that our daughters will embrace health, positivity and self-acceptance instead of clinging to trendy diets or unhealthy, un-necessary procedures to define their worth. Together, we can be a force of goodness for today’s girl.

A Teen Identity photographer allows your daughter to see herself I this world through a different lens. Without sexualizing your impressionable daughter, she can see herself through the techniques and tools used by industry professionals to enhance their celebrity clients. The end result is that your teen has a special portrait of his or herself that remains easily recognizable, while being treated to the same tools of the trade. (The following examples represent partof the problem.)

I am proud to announce that I am a Teen Identity Photographer servicing the Austin and surrounding areas. As a Teen Identity Photographer, I have taken a pledge (and I'd like to personally note that I value and whole-heartedly enter into) to uphold the Teen Identity commitment.
The pledge I signed indicates:

  • I will provide a photo/video session experience with teen girl clients designed to elevate their self esteem, make them feel beautiful and empowered.
  • Any photos and videos I (or my studio) create portraying teen girls will be done without over-sexualizing the subject. Photos and videos will be created tastefully, preserving the “innocence” of youth, yet at the same time striving to reveal the true personalities of our subjects.
  • Each year I (or my studio) will donate whatever time I can afford towards a Teen Identity approved organization or project designed to raise self-esteem in teen girls, empower teen girls, or address some issue of social injustice facing teen girls. This may include, but is not limited to, pro bono photo sessions for teen girls in economically depressed neighborhoods; teaching photography and/or video workshops on behalf of Teen Identity; acting as a photography/video coach for teen girls in my local neighborhood.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I have a pre-teen experiencing low self-esteem and feel that Teen Identity would benefit her. Is she able to participate even though she’s not yet a teenager?

YES! Teen Image Photographers have had great success with those who haven’t quite celebrated their thirteenth birthday and are thrilled to become a part of an early impact towards a confident future generation.

What is the cost of a Teen Identity Photo Shoot?

The current rate for a Teen Identity photo shoot is an investment of $120 for an hour sitting fee plus the current cost of prints/framing options. (CD of edited images is available for $300 and is unavailable as a part of any special promotions or discount pricing.)
If you’re unable to afford the cost of a Teen Identity Photo Shoot, don’t hesitate to ask about unadvertised specials! And remember my pledge? You just may qualify for a pro-bono photo shoot as a part of my yearly pledge! This is a cause close to my heart and I want any girl in need to receive!
